A vessel is sailing off the coast of Incheon on Sept. 26, 2020, in this photo indirectly related to the article. YONHAPThree men reported missing during a fishing trip off the coast of Incheon were found 11 hours after last contact by the Korea Coast Guard on Monday.
Officials found them around 6:12 a.m. near Choji Island in Ongjin County, Incheon, popular for sea fishing and marine leisure activities.
The men were reportedly clinging to their capsized motorboat, wearing life jackets. None suffered serious injuries.
The three had gone fishing on Sunday, setting off from Yeongjong Island, Jung District, Incheon.
The wife of one of the men reported her husband missing to police at around 10:30 p.m. after losing contact with him following a final phone call at around 7:10 p.m.
Following the report, the coast guard formed a regional rescue headquarters and deployed patrol vessels, aircraft and ships from related agencies to search the waters near Choji Island and Jawol Island, where the men were found.
