Precipitations of at least 100 milliliters were expected across several parts of the Gyeongsang and Jeolla regions, as heavy rainfall of 30-50 milliliters fell on central and southern coastal areas of the South Jeolla region.
Rain will let up in most parts of the central region Sunday afternoon, but showers are forecast for other regions at least until Monday morning. Some parts of Jeju Island will have rain until Monday afternoon.
Around 120 reports on rain-related emergencies were made to the emergency services in the Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City, from Saturday to Sunday morning.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety held an emergency meeting Sunday and dispatched officials to South Gyeongsang Province, in response to the heavy rainfall expected in the area around the Jirisan Mountain.
